Add Watermark to PDF
Add a text or image watermark to a PDF to mark pages with a label, logo, or notice. Choose its appearance, placement, and page range.
Processed in your browser. Your file is not uploaded.
Choose one PDF and select a text or image watermark. Enter up to 200 characters, or upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP image up to 10 MB.
Set the text font, color, and size, or the image width. Adjust opacity, rotation, position, and edge distance. To repeat the mark across each page, turn on “Tile over the whole page” and choose the number of copies.
Under “Pages,” choose “All pages” or “Custom range” and enter the page numbers. Set “Layer” to place it over or under content. Check the preview on page thumbnails, then save.
Use text for labels such as a draft notice or confidentiality marking, or add a logo as an image. Text offers Sans, Serif, and Mono fonts and sizes from 8 to 200 pt. Image width ranges from 10% to 100% of page width, with proportions preserved. Opacity ranges from 0% to 100%, rotation, from −180° to 180°. Choose a corner, edge, or center position and set the edge distance from 0 to 100 pt. The mark is scaled down if needed to fit.
Each run processes one PDF and one watermark. There is no set file-size or page-count limit, device memory is the practical constraint. Supported fonts skip Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and emoji characters. Text marks are searchable and copyable, so they do not prevent copying, editing, or removal. An under-content mark may be hidden by page backgrounds or scanned images. Unlock password-protected or permission-restricted PDFs first.
The output is one PDF with the same pages and watermark. Processing happens in your browser, neither file is uploaded. No account is required, and results have no site branding.
FAQ
Can I use a transparent logo as an image watermark?
Yes. PNG transparency is retained in the watermark, so transparent parts of a logo stay transparent. JPG and WebP images are also accepted.
Can I use different watermark text on different pages in one run?
No. A run uses one watermark, so it cannot apply personalized text to different pages. You can select a page range for that single watermark.
Can I change settings after creating the watermark?
Yes. After the result appears, “Change settings” lets you adjust the options and save again without selecting the PDF again.
What happens if my PDF is marked as PDF/A?
The PDF/A identification is removed from the XMP metadata, and the changed file is not checked for PDF/A conformance. The document’s other properties, such as Title and Author, remain as in the original.
