Choose one PDF by selecting it, dragging it onto the page, or pasting it from the clipboard. The file must be a PDF. Then choose a split method and set its options.
Choose the method that fits how you want to divide the document. Select “Every N pages” to set how many pages go into each file. With “By ranges,” each range becomes a separate PDF. In “Manually,” click the scissors between thumbnails to choose where a new part starts. “Odd and even” creates one file with odd-numbered pages and another with even-numbered pages. Bookmarks that point to pages in a part are carried into that part.
These options can help divide a long document into sections, separate selected page ranges, or sort a PDF containing odd and even pages. A PDF with only one page cannot be split, and only one PDF can be processed at a time.
There is no set file-size, page-count, or daily quota, but device memory is the practical limit. Files over 200 MB may be slow to process or run out of memory on phones and older computers.
Password-protected or permission-restricted PDFs, damaged PDFs, and non-PDF files are not supported. Each part is a separate PDF. When there are two or more parts, you can also download them together as a ZIP. Output names are based on the original file name and page details, and cannot be customized.
FAQ
How do I enter page ranges?
Separate ranges with commas, such as 1-3, 4-6, 8-. A range ending with a hyphen continues to the last page, while -3 means pages 1 through 3. Ranges can be entered in any order and may overlap.
What will the split files be called?
A one-page part uses a name such as report-page-3.pdf, while a range uses a name such as report-pages-1-2.pdf. Odd and even parts use names like report-odd-pages.pdf and report-even-pages.pdf. The ZIP uses the original name followed by -split.zip. Custom output names are not available.
Can I change the split settings without selecting the PDF again?
Yes. After the result appears, choose "Change settings" to adjust the options and process the same file again. Choose "Start over" if you want to select a different PDF.
Can I download all the parts together?
Yes. When the split creates at least two parts, the result also offers one ZIP containing them. You can still download each PDF part separately.
Why won't my password-protected PDF open?
This tool does not open password-protected PDFs or PDFs with permission restrictions. You can use the separate Unlock PDF tool if you know the password, then try splitting the unlocked file.
