Choose a PDF to open the page preview. Select “Trim white margins automatically” to detect plain white margins. Choose “One frame for all pages” for a shared crop, or “Each page separately” when pages need different areas. Automatic trim leaves 2 mm around detected content.
For a manual crop, enter top, bottom, left, and right margins, or drag the frame and handles. Margin fields update as you adjust the frame.
Choose “All pages”, “Current page”, or “Pages” to set which pages to crop. Enter page numbers and ranges, such as 1-3, 5, 8-. Check previews on different pages, then select “Crop PDF” to create the file.
Crop wide margins to make document content more prominent. Use one crop setting for pages with similar layouts, or separate frames when contents sit differently. Margins are measured from displayed page edges, including rotation, so the same settings can apply across pages of different sizes or rotations.
Enter margins in millimeters, inches, or points, at least 10 mm must remain on each side. Automatic trimming detects plain white margins, not scans, colored backgrounds, or noisy pages. If none are found, set the crop manually.
“Visible area (CropBox)” changes what is shown but keeps page size. “Hard crop (page size)” changes page size and may help if a printer or program ignores the visible crop. Neither scales content to another paper format or deletes content outside the frame, that content remains in the file and may still be extracted.
Text remains selectable and searchable, content is not rasterized, and cropping does not reduce file size. Output is one PDF with the original page count. There is no fixed file-size or page-count limit, device memory is the practical limit, and files over 200 MB may be slow. Unlock password-protected or permission-restricted PDFs first.
FAQ
What if the automatic trim finds no white margins?
The tool reports that no white margins were found when the selected pages look blank or have content up to the edges. You can then set the crop yourself using the frame or margin values.
Can I adjust the crop after seeing the result?
Yes. Choose Change settings to adjust the crop and save again without selecting the PDF again. Start over returns you to choosing a new file.
What happens if a page already has a crop?
New margin values are measured inside the page’s existing CropBox, so the new crop is based on the area already defined as visible.
Will Visible area work in every PDF viewer or printer?
Not necessarily. Some viewers or printers may ignore the CropBox, and the tool cannot guarantee how every program will display or print it. Choose "Hard crop (page size)" when you need the page size itself to change.
